you would think i have a photo…

but i don’t. i’m too busy to take pictures. too busy i say.
it’s been a busy busy week with students back in town. funny how we were just a locals only kind of pizzeria and then slowly the students have discovered us and really bring a lot of business.
the pies have been looking good. there was one tonight that did not look so perfect. i forgot ricotta on it and added it and cooked it a bit more to melt the cheese and it was slightly overcooked. but all the rest were awesome, and there were lots and lots of gorgeous pies tonight.
i got a pepperoni slice at the end of the night but then wasn’t really ready to eat it. but i had ridden my bike to work so i was not sure what to do. i ended up wrapping the slice in foil and putting it in the big side pocket of my cargo pants. later, after a shower, hanging out, i ate that slice and it was so perfectly delicious. i could almost forget i had made a million pizzas all night and imagine i had just biked up to my neighborhood pizza place and brought back a slice. i went to blue highway the other night and had some pizza that was really good. i love going out and getting good pizza somewhere else. it makes me happy that i’m not the only one with good pizza.

thursday night was crazy busy too. i was not cooking and i did notice a few overcooked pies and a soggy pie. that always makes me so sad. i try so hard to teach the skills, but they are very hard to learn. even i mess up sometimes.

i met some nice new customers tonight, sent in by commissioner Chesnut. a really nice family. and the word on the street was about the Sun sports writer who was in eating this week. what i want to know is, where does tebow eat his pizza? why haven;t we seen him yet? if he’s the best football player in college football, he ought to have the best pizza in florida, right in his own backyard…

hello

gatornationals was this past weekend, not the weekend before like i thought. and i thought it would be crazy but it was not. spring break for UF students made it actually kind of slow. friday night the wait was only about 30 minutes instead of 2 hours. we did see some gatornational fans and every year we get a few more.

robbie’s world is up and running. if you want to know what that means, come on up and look around and find robbie. what a great addition he is to the family. i feel lucky to have him around.

also, danny has been learning some magic tricks, really good ones. danny always amazes me.

joey has one foot out the door. he’s not leaving for like 6 months but it’s all he talks about. he doesn’t care, he just wants to be a lawyer now… and i thought he would try and master expediting first…

pam is pregnant, sue is jacked up on white lightning, josh can’t stop with the arnold impersonations, marvyn now works 2 days a week, mark can’t get to work on time, and jeff proposed to big lou’s that we challenge them to basketball. then i heard they are taking it very seriously and have a coach and are getting all jacked… well, i’m going to talk to billy d next time i see him and see if he won’t coach the satchel’s team. i think we should have a city wide basketball tournament for restaurant employees. not that i am any good. i was 15 years and 150 pounds ago, or at least i can claim i was and who will step up to disagree?

the pizzas keep getting better and now we have new t-shirts, LSE brushes and sunglasses, Satchel’s and LSE pint glasses, and satchel’s onesies. come on up and shop and eat.

P.S. hamhock and slide were rockin’ the stage tonight. man, you should have been there.

here’s shade tree last weekend at lightnin’ salvage. we love ‘em.

this weekend is sure to be a crazy time with gatornationals happening. we’ll be sure to have plenty of bud light on hand.

we’ve got lots of exciting things happening up at satchel’s. i’m busy painting designs on the building and getting ready for some big shows in april. the weary boys new band and our 3rd annual dancehall reggae event will bring you back from the haze that the media and politics has put on you.

speaking of politics, i will not shy away from telling you i am an obama fan. i’ve been watching the race closely and i’m just all anxious about the possibilities of him not getting the nomination. i’m scared to get too excited about obama because i know i will probably just end up voting for nader again if he doesn’t get the nomination, although i like hillary a little.

the pies are looking better than ever, even though the price of flour is through the roof. friday is our 5 year anniversary at satchel’s and flour was about $9 a bag then. this past week it went up $7 a bag from $25 to $32. yikes! i’m telling you, it’s crazy. our food prices double way faster than our menu prices can increase. my guess is you’ll have to pay more and more for pizza anywhere, and bread and all kinds of stuff. i’ll try to keep prices steady as long as i can, but you just can’t believe what is happening in this market. fuel surcharges… rapid price increases… it’s out of control.

so, yeah, friday… marks 5 years of satchel’s pizza. we are so happy to still be around and going strong. come out and show your support. we may give you a deal this weekend if you’re a regular customer, i mean a “real” regular customer. lightnin’ salvage just passed it’s 2 year anniversary march 3rd. so, i guess with these 2 kids, i have 4 youngsters altogether.

plan your whole evening with us and come out for a good time. we’ll make it worth the wait.
