woodsboss
the weary boys returned to gainesville, this time as woodsboss, with molly as the new singer, and doing lots of the old weary boys favorites and some new woodsboss classics. i must say, it was the best time i’ve had in years… dancing and just soaking up the jams. the music just got better and better all night until the final song of the encore, orange blossom special, just blew everything i ever knew about music, out of the water. unfotrunately, by this late hour, there were only about 20 folks around to enjoy it. it was the kind of moment that you knew you were witnessing the best thing going on in the entire country and you were just glad to be there. they really rocked. they said they will be back every april and we look forward to that for sure.
as for the weekend, we had a few issues friday night, but nothing too major except for the half ricotta half artichoke pizza that the ticket forgot to get turned in on. then, when it was coming out, jeff burned his hand and lost the artichoke half. so, that was a bit of an ordeal, but saturday night there were no mistakes and we were all having a pretty good time. actually, there were quite a few problems that had me over stressed saturday but i won’t get into the details. the food was good, and that’s the most important thing.
this week upcoming is supposed to be our busiest of the year as we approach spring graduation on saturday. we’ve got extra people on staff every night and are ready to rock. i’m excited.
there is the funny story of the lady who called asking about the price of a 1 topping large. then she determined the cheese only price, then she commented on how that the large cheese pizza cost more than it used to cost. joey started to explain that the cost of food and fuel are driving up prices… so she says, “welcome to the real world” and hangs up. candy bars used to be a nickel. gas used to cost $2 a gallon. times are changin’.
